Recent advances in noninvasive monitoring can have a significant impact on anesthesia practices. These innovative technology platforms can help facilitate timelier assessment of patient status and streamline clinical workflows through flexible integration into multi-parameter monitors.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discover how an integrated monitoring approach provides anesthesiologists with additional clinical insight.
  • Recognize the value of simultaneously using multiple parameters during perioperative care, such as noninvasive continuous hemoglobin, pleth variability, and brain monitoring.
  • Understand the role of bedside ultrasound in the management of brain and somatic desaturation.
  • Learn how to incorporate CNS monitoring parameters with processed EEG data during the care of patients under anesthesia.
